How to Become a Certified Medical Esthetician

To become a medical esthetician, specific training is required, and in most states, there are pre-requisites that must be met before you can undertake a course in this field. This may include the completion of a high school certificate or a GED. Other states only allow medical professionals such as nurses and doctors to become a medical esthetician. There are typically state-mandated units of work that a medical esthetician must successfully complete, and then students are able to specialise in a field of their choosing. While it is not always required, many medical estheticians chose to undertake college-level science courses such as biology or anatomy to give them a higher understanding of their field of work, whilst others undertake training programs that give them hands on experience. Each of these pathways give students an edge over other applicants applying for jobs in the medical esthetician field.
