Ogden-Weber Technical College Overview

The Nail Technician program provides the skills needed to work in a beauty or nail salon performing customer services such as manicures, pedicures and applying artificial nails. Instruction includes artificial nail techniques: wraps, tips, gel, sculptured acrylic nail, nail art, mechanical techniques; manicuring with hand and arm massage; pedicuring including massage of the lower leg and foot sanitation and sterilization; bacteriology and salon safety; disorders of nail and skin; professional ethics and salon management; and licensing laws and rules. Upon completion of the program, students should the knowledge and skills needed to take the state written and practical examinations required for licensure.
