Iowa Central Community College Overview

The Iowa Central Community College Apprenticeship Program is designed to assist electrical contractors in getting their employees licensed by the State of Iowa. Students interested in taking the apprenticeship program must be working for an electrical contractor who is registered with the state and the student is required to be working for a licensed Journeymen or Master electrician to clock 8,000 hours of on the job training (OJT). Once the Iowa Central Community College Electrical Apprenticeship coursework is completed, and the student has clocked the required hours, the student will be eligible to take the state electrical exam.
