APA is the leading scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States, with more than 121,000 researchers, educators, clinicians, consultants and students as its members.

Their main goal is to advance the progression, correspondence, and utilization of mental science and information to profit society and improve lives. They do this by:
• Using brain research to have a beneficial outcome on basic cultural issues.
• Raising the comprehension of and respect for brain science.
• Setting up the control and calling of brain science for what’s to come.
• Fortifying APA as the voice for brain research.

How to Join American Psychological Association

To be a full member of APA you need a doctoral degree in psychology or a related field from a regionally accredited institution; a school that achieved such accreditation within five years of the doctoral degree; or a school of similar standing outside of the United States.
